The ESA Certified Alarm Technician Level 2 Certification gives you a road map for success in your career development by requiring applicants to meet stringent training and work experience requirements. They are earned and continuously maintained to help you develop your skills and knowledge.

Requirements to Earn the Certified Alarm Technician (CAT) Level 2 Certification

Must hold an active ESA Certified Alarm Technician (CAT) Level 1 or higher (ESA National Training School or accredited) certificate.

Must have 24 months work history (proven by submitting work verification) or have held ESA Certified Alarm Technician Level I for 24 months or more.

Then complete the following additional courses of study:

  • Advanced Intrusion Systems (AIS) course, or the online equivalent, and pass the proctored multiple-choice examination
  • Fire Alarm Installation Methods (FAIM) course, or the online equivalent, and pass the proctored multiple-choice examination
