Requirements to Earn the Certified Video Technician Certification

Must hold an active ESA Certified Alarm Technician Level 1 or higher (ESA or accredited) certificate.

Must have 12 months of work experience or 12 months or more of possessing an ESA Certified Alarm Technician Level I certification.

Then successfully complete two (2) additional courses of study within the previous five years:

  • Video Systems Technician (VST), or the online equivalent, and pass the proctored multiple-choice examination
  • Fundamentals of Networking course online
